Strategic Administration

Instinct built most companies. It rarely scales them. At some size, a business needs a way of deciding that does not depend on one person being in the room.

We work on three things together, because separately none of them holds. A plan with objectives specific enough to be wrong. A governance structure that says who decides what, and on what evidence. And a small set of indicators — genuinely small — that tell the leadership team whether the plan is working, early enough to act.

The test we hold ourselves to is simple: a month after we leave, the management meeting should be shorter, better attended and end in decisions. If the plan lives in a document nobody opens, we have not finished.
